Agriculture Committee
In Cooperation with CHS Ag. Dept. & FFA Booster Club
GOAL
To promote and involve the agriculture community in the growth and development of the Cushing area for the mutual benefit of urban and rural citizens.
OBJECTIVE
Sponsor and assist in the annual Cushing Jr. Breeder Show utilizing budget monies, incentive awards and volunteer manpower.
- Promote and support all exhibits and activities at the Payne County Fair
- through public acknowledgment of benefits and accomplishments.
Cushing Ambassadors
GOAL
To serve as the official goodwill diplomats for the Cushing Community by participating in events and celebrations that will enhance the visibility of both the Chamber and the Community.
OBJECTIVES
Welcome new businesses to Cushing through personal contact to evidence Chamber interest in them and solicit investment as well as their participation in Chamber activities.
- Organize and attend new business Ribbon Cuttings.
- Function as greeters at Chamber events.
Assist in decorating at Chamber events when requested, such as the Annual Meeting.
Bar-B-Q ‘n Blues Task Force
GOAL
To recognize the importance of the Oil and Pipeline industry to Cushing as the "Pipeline Crossroads of the World" and to provide the pipeline companies an outstanding forum for public awareness of issues. Task force work begins in Early February, culminating with the early June event.
OBJECTIVES
- To honor the major oil and pipeline companies for their contribution to the economy and success of Cushing.
- To showcase the Cushing community by attracting people from all over the state and country through its annual Bar-B-Q & Blues Festival to be held on the first Saturday of June each year (first Festival was held in June 1997).
- Focal points are the world's largest cooker with a smoker representing each pipeline company, providing good food and great music.
