The Theatre was organized in 1991 and incorporated in 1992, the Cushing
Community Theatre is governed by a nine (9) member board of directors.
In 1993, CCT purchased the aging Peery Building (formerly OTASCO) in
downtown Cushing. With the help of the community, both with financing
and manpower, the old peery Building was transformed into a performing
arts center.
Since renovation, CCT is serving the community in many ways. It has
become a multi-purpose facility providing not only live theatrical
performances; but, also providing meeting space for small groups and
numerous civic orgaizations. To date, CCT has produced 34 plays,
including 3 musicals, 8 children's productions, and 15 dinner theatre
plays.
CCT has four productions each year. One of which is a summer musical
revue. Each production is scheduled for two consecutive weekends with 4
dinner performances and 2 Sunday matinees. Dinner theatre tickets are
$22 each and matinee tickets are $8. Dinner theatre tables of 8 may be
purchased for $168, which is a savings of $1 per ticket.
Tour groups are welcomed. All tour group rates are $21 for dinner
theatre and $7 for matinees. Complimentary tickets are issued for
drivers and tour group organizers. One half of the ticket cost is due
when the reservations are made. The remainder of the balance is paid
one week prior to the performance. Cancellations are accepted up to two
weeks before the scheduled date.
